NewTown Macon
As a Media, Research, and Writing Intern, I supported NewTown Macon’s mission of revitalizing Downtown Macon by producing, shooting, and brainstorming social media content for its 30th-anniversary campaign, highlighting downtown businesses and long-term community impact. I compiled a comprehensive historical overview into a timeline for the organization’s website and conducted archival research to connect past and present initiatives in ways that deepen public engagement. I spotlighted many downtown Macon businesses, events, and lofts opening through photography and graphics posted to Downtown Macon’s Facebook and Instagram.
NewTown Macon Timeline
I looked through 30 years of NewTown annual reports and conducted additional archival research to compile a syndicated timeline of key milestones in the company’s history. Here is a link to the Timeline draft that will soon air live on the website.
J. REID’s Tavern
I photographed a new business that opened downtown called J. REID’s Tavern. The photos I took were then put on Downtown Macon’s Facebook page to promote and introduce the restaurant to the community. You can take a look at the post by clicking the button.
Switch Macon
I photographed Switch Macon, a theme bar in downtown. The photos I took were then put on Downtown Macon’s Facebook page to promote the new Valentine’s Day theme. You can take a look at the post by clicking the button.
Parish on Cherry
Parish on Cherry Street recently underwent a renovation, so I went and photographed their new upscale dining experience as well as their new and familiar favorites from the menu. You can check out the post on the Downtown Macon Facebook page by clicking the button.
Graphics
I did Social Media graphics for multiple NewTown accounts including First Friday, Neels Loft, and Fair Food Frenzy. I also dug into the archives to dive into some old photos of downtown businesses.
